Description

The Stationary Operations Engineer oversees all stationary equipment within the facility, ensuring optimal operation and safety through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs. The role demands strong technical knowledge of boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, pumps, control systems, and related building air systems, as well as the ability to respond to service calls and document all activities in the CMMS system.

• Operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Respond to service calls, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions.
• Document all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements in the CMMS system.
• Ensure operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams for seamless issue resolution.
• Act as first responder during equipment emergencies, following safety procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends and attend relevant training.
• Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lb routinely.
• Relocate a 12‑ft stepladder unaided and work at heights up to 60 ft on ladders, scaffolds, or lifts.
• Perform repetitive tasks such as walking, climbing, squatting, crawling, and reaching overhead.

Requirements

Applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible for a government security investigation and be able to obtain and maintain HSPD and Secret clearances, with a preference for HSPD‑12 and Active Secret. A DC 3rd Steam Engineer License or Stationary Engineer’s License is also required.

• Minimum 8+ years of facilities maintenance experience with a high school diploma or GED.
• Hold a DC 3rd Steam Engineer License/Stationary Engineer’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain HSPD & Secret clearance (preferred HSPD‑12 & Secret Active).
• Proficient in maintenance of boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, chillers, pumps, and control systems.
• Strong problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
• Possess good vision (corrected if needed) and ability to hear and communicate in English.
