  • Review and interpretation of architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and related documents to support peer reviews and consulting activities
  • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues, providing quality control reviews with helpful feedback, contributing to process improvement and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Authoring site visit reports, standalone technical reports, and contributing to project basis of design documentation
  • Technical project execution, including performing and training others in hands-on field investigations; applying sound judgment and a deep understanding of governing codes, design guidelines, and various building enclosure systems for analysis, detailing, and repair design; preparing technically excellent client deliverables; and providing high-quality reviews of work by others
  • Performing condition assessments and construction site visits, which may include documenting existing conditions, performance evaluation, and field testing, collecting data and samples, troubleshooting details, and observing buildings under construction
  • Contributing to project scoping and fee proposals, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and managing client expectations and deliverables
  • Stand, walk, and climb for 8+ hours a day
  • Collaboration with multi-discipline project teams, including providing expertise for a variety of building envelope-related projects (e.g., roofing, waterproofing, curtain wall, fenestrations, troubleshooting of existing envelope systems, enclosure commissioning (BECx), and/or specialty consulting of new enclosure systems from design through construction)

  • Demonstrated competence in transitioning quickly between multiple priorities while maintaining effective coworker and client relationships

  • Experience with Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper
  • Work outdoors with varying terrain and all types of weather
  • Established experience with some or all of the following materials and systems: facades, curtain walls, fenestration/glazing systems, sealants and coatings, insulation, air barriers, cladding assemblies, low-slope roofing, steep-slope roofing, below-grade waterproofing, plaza/terrace waterproofing, traffic coatings, green roofs
  • Experience with Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree or better in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background check as a condition of employment
  • Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred; related professional certifications such as Registered Roof Consultant/Observer, Registered Exterior Wall Consultant/Observer, Registered Waterproofing Consultant, and Certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Provider will be considered in lieu of professional licensure, with relevant experience
  • Minimum six years of cumulative industry experience, including significant technical experience in architectural detailing of building envelope systems, roofing systems, and waterproofing systems. This experience should include a diverse assortment of enclosure types, materials, and interface detailing. Knowledge of building science fundamentals and advanced applications is required, including condensation and moisture control, air barrier design, materials selection, and thermal bridging mitigation
  • Experience with WUFI Pro, THERM, WINDOW
