Reporting to the Executive Director, the Food Service Manager provides overall leadership for the Food Service Department. The role ensures residents receive safe, nutritious, high-quality meals that meet individual dietary needs and promote a positive dining experience. It also guarantees compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best practices to support resident health, well-being, and satisfaction.
The position combines office-based duties with active involvement in all areas of nutrition and food service operations within the home, with work hours aligned to operational requirements. The manager must handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, interacting daily with residents, staff, and visitors while demonstrating professionalism, patience, and strong communication skills. Adherence to infection control, food safety, and occupational health and safety standards is required at all times.
Flexibility to participate in the manager on-call rotation schedule is expected. Candidates must provide a negative vulnerable sector check completed within six months of the hire date and a two-step TB skin test completed within the past twelve months. The position is located at Port Perry Place, a long-term care home, with a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 for a full-time vacancy.
