In this role you will collaborate with the Aviation Market Director and national staff, lead business development for horizontal and vertical aviation services, drive partnerships with other consultants, and guide practice growth based on emerging trends and funding sources. You will also manage key performance metrics, support client presentations and contract negotiations, and ensure quality reviews of project documentation.

- Lead business growth for aviation planning and design services across the U.S.
- Drive partnerships with other aviation consultants to win projects
- Guide practice development based on emerging trends, technologies, and funding
- Maintain thought‑leader profile and deliver industry‑leading client service
- Coordinate collaboration between Project Managers and cross‑functional technical teams
- Manage and forecast metrics: backlog, P&L, sales, net revenue, utilization, etc.
- Lead client shortlist presentations and participate in contract negotiations
- Provide quality reviews of project documentation from work plans to final deliverables
- Travel up to 50% to clients, conferences, and Woolpert offices

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering (or related field), a current Professional Engineering license, and at least 10 years of experience leading statewide transportation and aviation projects. Expertise in FAA planning, airfield design, and related technologies is required, along with strong business acumen, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Minimum 10+ years experience leading statewide transportation and aviation projects
- Current Professional Engineering license required
- Subject‑matter expertise in airfield, vertical, airport layout, master planning, and related design solutions
- Thorough knowledge of FAA Planning and Design Advisory Circulars
- Experience with public‑private partnerships, GIS, and asset management (desired)
- Strong business acumen and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment
- Adapt quickly to industry changes and internal initiatives
