Investment Associate

Description

• Creation of profitability analyses, profitability calculations, sensitivity analyses and stress tests.
• Active involvement in the analysis of acquisition and due diligence documentation as well as support in the preparation of internal and external documents (external bids, decision documents, business cases, financial reports and prospectuses).
• Collaborate with internal functions (e.g., risk, legal, tax & accounting) to ensure successful investment execution and management.
• Assist with management of greenfield and ongoing project development activities with local partners, service providers.
• Support internal reporting requirements and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
• Management of due diligence processes for acquisition/investment targets.
• Independent creation, testing and further development of integrated financial models in the modelling language FAST Standard at the asset and holding structure levels of the Group.
• Support the expansion of Aquila Clean Energy’s established business through greenfield and brownfield equity investments in renewable energy assets in the APAC region.
• Support senior members of the Investment team in the execution and delivery oft of the investment strategy and thesis.
• Work effectively with external counterparties to evaluate, structure, and finance both existing and new investments.
• Participate in key investment management tasks including budgeting, project management, timeline tracking, and contract management.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in financial, cash flow modelling and accounting concepts.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to work independently across key investment workstreams, including financial modelling, documentation preparation, and due diligence coordination.
• CAIA, CFA or FRM qualifications are a plus.
• Fluent in English is a must. Other languages, in particular Mandarin, Korean and/or Japanese are an advantage.
• Very good MS Office knowledge, in particular in-depth user knowledge of Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and a very good understanding of numbers.
• Good understanding of development and investment cycles of infrastructure projects.
• Degree in business administration / economics or similar qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience ideally in investment management within the renewable energy sector or transaction advisory.
• Good understanding of asset and investment themes and the associated business cases.
• Proven experience working with financial institutions and investors on transactions or due diligence.
• Results-oriented, independent work with the ability to prioritise and a high level of quality awareness.
