MST Technician

Description

• Attend repair/renewal of electromechanical equipment under APM guidance.
• Respond to electrification complaints, prioritizing safe, cost‑effective repairs.
• Inspect, repair, install, service electrical systems including DG, conduit, lighting, power circuits, controls, switches, fans, fixtures.
• Read and interpret sketches, wiring diagrams, drawings, and blueprints to meet standards.
• Keep routine records and logs of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and work orders.
• Assist in various maintenance tasks, performing semi‑skilled to skilled repairs and construction.
• Maintain store‑keeping and log records.
• Report for duty on time and hand over to shift reliever.
• Ensure premises and equipment are neat and clean.
• Thoroughly inspect DG system for electrical/mechanical issues.
• Perform pre‑start checks on all DG units.
• Maintain DG logbook and control panel hourly.
• Monitor diesel levels in service and day tanks, report changes to shift engineer.
• Record daily diesel consumption, generated units, runtime, and efficiency per DG.
• Weekly record battery cell specific gravity and voltage.
• Report any DG abnormalities (hunting, voltage/rpm fluctuations, cranking failures) to supervisor and APM.
• Maintain all DG history cards.
• Support AMC vendors for B & C checks of DGs.
• Remain alert during DG operation at all times.
• Set and test electrical appliances, relays, PLCs, and lightning protection systems.
• Use instruments such as multimeters and XLPE cable joints.

• Hold an ITI certificate with minimum 2 years experience; 3 years in HV/LV maintenance (VCBs, transformers, LT panels, electrification).
