  • Work Methods Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend changes in work methods and procedures in assigned areas.
  • Functional Analyses: Perform functional analyses to ensure systems meet performance criteria.
  • Remote Sensing System Concept Development: Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to develop system concepts and processing algorithms in the remote sensing domain, with an emphasis on radar systems for airborne and space-based platforms.
  • Business Development: Develop new business opportunities, and associated strategies and tactics to win work.
  • Solutions Integration: Ensure that solutions can be integrated into viable complete systems.
  • Project Guidance: Advise staff on projects and tasks.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and instruction related to design problems.
  • Staff Supervision: May supervise lower-level engineers.
  • Staffing Referrals: Recommend candidates for employment.
  • Personnel Guidance: Train, direct, and assist the efforts of other personnel, as required, to fulfill the objectives of the assignment.
  • Project Requirements Analysis: Analyze project requirements and provide information and instruction for designing, operating, maintaining, and modifying systems.
  • Assignment Management: Under broad direction, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Conduct Studies: Conduct special studies and investigations related to projects.
  • Operations and Procedures: Formulate, recommend, and direct operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the strategic planning process and ensure appropriate skills are available when needed.
  • Work Delegation: Plan and coordinate the work of other engineers and technical personnel, with completed assignments subject to minimum review of overall results.
  • Engineering Tasks: Perform engineering tasks to develop systems capable of meeting operational requirements within imposed constraints.
  • On-going Process Improvement: Develop and implement new processes/procedures as needed.
  • Organizational Consultancy: Serve as an organizational consultant; leads multi-discipline or cross-functional team(s).

  • Prototyping Experience: Engineering software (prototyping) experience in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Business Management Tools Proficiency: Ability to work with standard business management tools and financial systems, MS Office, project management software
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance
  • Established Client Relationship Skills: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain trusted client relationships
  • Education: BS degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or applied mathematics plus 25 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience; or Masters’ degree plus 16 years’ experience; or Ph.D. with 8 or more years of relevant experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
  • Research Development Experience: A demonstrated ability to successfully execute research and development projects (for prototypes, products & systems)
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Work-style Flexibility: Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Leadership Experience: A demonstrated ability to not only direct, but lead, a highly talented team
  • Government Contracting Understanding: Knowledge of U.S. Government contracting and federal acquisition regulations, and success in operating as an engineering lead and/or project manager within this environment
  • Programming Language: Software development experience in C++
  • Travel Requirements: Moderate (20% to 50%)
  • Remote Sensing Knowledge: Knowledge of remote sensing technologies including active and passive sensor systems which operate in the RF regime, and the concepts, signal and image processing algorithms and software architectures that enable these systems.
  • Technical Lead Experience: Demonstrated experience (5 years minimum) as a systems engineering technical lead, with responsibility for successful concurrent execution and delivery on development projects.
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with current SCI access with Poly
