The Role

Overview

Environmental consultant for contaminated land assessment, remediation and management.

Tasks

-Interpret findings and prepare and review technical reports. -Review and evaluate large amounts of field collected data to support data gap analyses and selection of remedial options. -Participate in business development activities and maintaining team and region relationships. -Provide technical expertise for contaminated site investigation, remediation, and reclamation programs. -Provide technical direction and project management of fundamental tasks related to environmental projects (e.g., soil and groundwater investigation), remediation scopes of work and report preparation. -Track budgets and identify and communicate scope changes in a timely manner. -Communicate with and provide mentorship to junior staff.

What You Bring

-Capable of understanding and appropriately applying prescribed safety and technical protocols. -Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language. -The ability to work well in a team environment. -5-12 years’ experience encompassing project coordination and project management and with emphasis in the areas of contaminated site assessment, remediation, and reclamation. -Post Graduate Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geosciences, chemistry, environmental science and hydrogeology). -Strong communication skills and experience in public facing roles such as responding to questions and interacting with the public on large-scale development or environmental projects. -Experience in routine statistical analysis would be an asset. -Knowledge and technical understanding of conceptual site models and generic level risk assessments. -Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational and time management skills. -Experience working closely with regions on large, multi-year projects. -Basic knowledge of regulatory frameworks and guidelines of the Environment Management Act and specifically the Contaminated Sites Regulation in UK.
