The Director, Construction – DAS & Small Cells will direct and oversee the planning, building, and deployment of SBA’s DAS network assets. This role is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving work quality, achieving milestones on schedule, and providing leadership to ensure successful delivery of all project objectives.
In this position, the director will lead and develop direct reports responsible for DAS, fiber, and Wi‑Fi deployments, allocate resources, and delegate responsibilities to ensure departmental efficiency. They will collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Accounting, Compliance, the Network Operations Center, and Site Administration to provide project status updates. Continuous improvement of construction quality, safety, and cost will be driven through cost monitoring, progress tracking, and variance reporting, while also establishing partnership programs, co‑selling incentives, and marketing initiatives to generate new business opportunities.
Supervisory responsibilities include partnering with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, and hire a diverse, high‑performing team, as well as overseeing onboarding and career development. The director will coach, mentor, and provide routine constructive feedback, fostering a culture of engagement, compliance, and customer focus that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field and possess at least seven years of experience in project management, construction, and vendor management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to travel up to 25 % of the time, and a valid driver’s license are required. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 15 lb, and perform basic manual dexterity tasks while working in an office/cubicle environment.
