The Health Services Administrator must maintain strong relationships with facility, nursing, and contract staff, apply corporate and correctional policies with sound independent judgment, and help develop and enforce medical unit policies. They are responsible for improving operational efficiency and cost‑effectiveness of health services, communicating clearly with administration, staff, inmates, visitors, and the public—especially in sensitive situations—and completing annual performance evaluations for supervised staff. The role also includes ensuring adequate staffing, filling gaps during shortages, and performing nursing duties such as executing physician orders, assisting in examinations, dispensing medication, treating emergencies, and screening patients for referrals.
Candidates must hold a degree in nursing or a related healthcare/business field from an accredited institution; an advanced degree is preferred. At least three years of relevant management experience in a healthcare environment, a valid driver’s license, knowledge of correctional custody methods, and a minimum age of 19 are required. CoreCivic is a drug‑free workplace and an equal‑opportunity employer.
