The Permit Coordinator secures all required encroachment and construction permits for telecom and utility projects, coordinating with jurisdictions, customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely submissions and acquisitions. This role manages the permit schedule from start to finish, works across local, state, and federal agencies to resolve conflicts, and tracks multiple concurrent permit submittals to meet service‑level agreements.
- Permit kickoff meeting with jurisdictions
- Ensure SLAs and schedules are met
- Own the permitting process, coordinating design vendors and informing stakeholders
- Identify and resolve conflicting permitting requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Access databases for engineering and facility assignment records
- Work with the permit team to resolve permit escalations and mitigations promptly
- Listen for clarification, respond to questions, and participate in meetings
- Monitor own work to ensure quality and promote continuous improvement
- Meet permitting KPI standards
- Detail‑oriented, maintaining internal and customer tracking systems

- Complete jurisdictional conformance checks
- Understand OSP telecommunications terminology
- Follow policies and procedures, complete administrative tasks correctly and on time, supporting organizational goals
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of college/technical school or six months related experience and/or training
- Experience with permitting agencies and OSP telecom or utility builds
- Familiarity with acquiring encroachment, excavation, and traffic control permits
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, by air or vehicle
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to drive to permitting agencies daily
- Preferred: experience with quality control of engineering prints and fiber designs
- Preferred: experience with Arizona permitting
- Preferred: NEPA or environmental permitting experience

Compensation is based on skill set, experience, and location, with a base pay range of $24 – $31.50 USD per hour.
