The Survey Field Technician is responsible for gathering accurate geospatial information in the field, working closely with land surveyors, engineers, and project managers to support land development, construction, and infrastructure projects. This role involves operating and maintaining surveying instruments, recording measurements, and producing reports that inform project planning and decision‑making.
- Conduct field surveys to collect land boundary, topography, and property line data using total stations, GPS receivers, and levels.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate surveying instruments, ensuring accurate measurements.
- Measure, mark reference points, and establish benchmarks for construction and land development.
- Record field notes, sketches, and digital data with specialized software.
- Interpret legal documents and survey records to assist with boundary analysis.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with land surveyors, engineers, and project managers on surveying projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on surveying equipment.
- Review and verify collected data for accuracy and completeness.
- Generate survey reports and maps to support project planning.
- Prioritize safety awareness during all field activities.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or an associate degree in surveying considered a plus.
