Role
What you would be doing
- Ensures that all equipment utilized on a DB project has been inspected and documented daily prior to use.
- Evaluates working conditions and recommends improvements in safety and health methods, practices, and procedures.
- Maintain safety records for all onsite subcontractors.
- Acts as a liaison to customer safety and management staff.
- Reviews all subcontractor safety documentation.
- Responsible for project safety orientation and contractor badging when assigned project requires.
- Attends construction progress meetings and provides safety statistics on a weekly basis (hours, safe hours, incidents).
- Responsible for conducting a site safety audit to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Participates or facilitates daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensures that all materials utilized on the jobsite has a SDS readily available.
- Responsible for working side-by-side with site superintendent to ensure jobsite compliance with all EH&S regulatory agencies, DB policies, and customer guidelines.
- Works with designers, project managers, and superintendents to help build safety measures into the design and subcontractor bid packages.
- Reviews all injury and noninjury incidents and prepares incident reports and conducts investigations of incidents.
- Maintains current records of all project inspections per contractor.
What you bring
- Knowledge of construction and industrial operations
- Project management skills
- Ability to work as an effective member in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or a safety science
- Organizational and time management skills
- Up to 25% of travel to jobsites, including overnight travel.
- CHST certifications preferred
- Two to four (2-4) years of construction safety experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
- Must practice effective and clear recordkeeping practices
- Self-motivating and responsible
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
