The Associate Construction Manager is a mid‑level construction manager within Ditesco. This position oversees project and construction management of water, wastewater, utility, fiber broadband, telecommunications, heavy civil, transportation, and building projects. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously and assisting senior management in planning, execution, client satisfaction, and financial outcomes.
The role involves on‑site supervision, implementation of cost, schedule and quality controls, budget stewardship, schedule analysis, progress reporting, quality assurance, contract administration, stakeholder coordination, and comprehensive project close‑out.
- Perform work at local and remote job sites.
- Implement and supervise cost, schedule, and quality project controls.
- Manage client construction budgets and consult on cost issues.
- Conduct schedule analysis using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Lead and support weekly project progress meetings.
- Oversee daily construction and inspection logs and prepare progress reports.
- Create, review, edit, and distribute meeting minutes and project documents.
- Develop and manage construction quality control and assurance programs.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and codes.
- Produce monthly dashboard reports on project progress.
- Administer contracts (GMP, Unit Price, Cost Plus) including pay applications, change orders, and directives.
- Coordinate scheduling and communication among contractors, utilities, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Manage project closeout and commissioning, including punch lists, certificates, warranties, start‑up testing, and final payments.
- Maintain accurate record drawings and as‑built documentation.
- Verify field layout and perform construction‑grade surveying, advising on quality issues.
- Confirm material and equipment compliance with submittals and shop drawings.
- Schedule and review material testing (concrete, soil, asphalt) for specification compliance.
- Prepare project invoicing, review costs, and report financials accurately.
- Ensure adherence to standard safety practices and procedures.
- Apply construction phasing knowledge to accurate scheduling and controls.
- Compile data, perform statistical analysis, and produce technical reports.
- Prepare budgets, proposals, and assist with job cost management.
- Produce construction cost estimates to AACE Class 3 accuracy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with employees, agencies, clients, and the public.
- Perform mathematical calculations and statistical analyses.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and have at least five years of progressive engineering and construction experience, including project management and contract administration. Professional certification such as Certified Construction Manager or Colorado Registered Professional Engineer is preferred.
Preferred candidates bring experience in heavy civil, commercial, and public construction, strong safety and scheduling knowledge, technical writing abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Project. They should be capable of preparing accurate cost estimates, communicating effectively, and maintaining professional relationships.

- Pass drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
