The OCC Supervisor leads the control centre, supervising operators and managing day‑to‑day activities. The role oversees integration of new facilities into the monitoring system, provides ongoing training on OCC software, and participates in NERC compliance audits. Maintaining accurate documentation and driving continuous improvement are also core duties.
Operational duties include real‑time supervision of utility systems, rapid response to events, and strict adherence to established protocols. The supervisor works with internal OCC teams to streamline procedures, enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Key competencies required are strong leadership and team‑management skills, the ability to mentor and give performance feedback, and a focus on safety and collaboration. Problem‑solving expertise, deep knowledge of power‑generation protocols, and project‑management experience are essential for successful execution.
Candidates must have 2–5 years of renewables experience and at least three years in engineering, operations, IT or a related utility field, plus a BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent. Proficiency with MS Office, understanding of operating systems, network topology and SCADA/automation systems is preferred, as is knowledge of electric distribution and telecommunications.
