Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Description

The technician will provide maintenance and repair for a variety of customer- and company-owned heavy equipment and aerial lifts, working with the newest fleet in the industry. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7 AM‑5 PM, with overtime after 40 hours and occasional weekend on‑call.

• Use technology to create, assign, monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues.
• Practice safe job practices when repairing equipment.
• Operate laptops and tablets comfortably for diagnostics.
• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems using independent judgment.
• Assist in training lower‑level technicians.
• Document work performed electronically and maintain paperwork daily.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick‑up and delivery.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance and keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Participate in year‑round OEM training and other assigned duties.
• Bring energy, effort, and optimism daily.

Requirements

• Knowledge of OSHA requirements (preferred).
• Must own tools applicable to the position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Extensive construction equipment knowledge with advanced schematics understanding.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred.
• Field service, maintenance, and repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and age 21+ to operate company vehicle.
• Ability to move, stand, stoop, bend freely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb occasionally.
• May be required to be clean‑shaven for certain worksites.
• Must pass a 10‑panel drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
