Pipefitter Foreman

Description

Plan, lay-out and perform all types of pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role may also involve working in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision, and requires the ability to take direction from a higher‑skilled worker or foreman.

• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
• Inspect subordinates' work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies and take corrective action.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in tasks, methods, and be willing to learn from others.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
• Produce high‑quality work safely and productively at all times.
• Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work.
• Read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards; effectively utilize trade tools and equipment.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend.
• Use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis for communication.
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
• Comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb.

Requirements

• Maintain high proficiency in all related trade mathematics.
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum experience: three years (Level I), four years (Level II), five years (Level III) or six plus years (Level Sr.) in industrial/commercial construction with in‑depth pipefitter knowledge.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
• Frequently reach above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Work up to 12‑hour shifts performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
