  • Takes ownership for the quality of training in the OCC and actively seeks opportunities to increase their involvement in controller development.
  • Performs daily training of pipeline controllers, using this experience to identify, develop and deliver improvements in departmental training practices.
  • Recognizes and identifies operational issues in a proactive manner; monitors and manages OCC documentation, using this insight to develop and deliver documentation/communication improvements to management.
  • Occasional but infrequent travel away from the usual assigned work location may be required.
  • Actively seeks out information from across the company/departments in order to educate themselves and their peers.

  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear.   • Associates degree (Or applicable program certifications) from an accredited institution in a Technical or Business-related discipline
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
  • Ability to quickly analyze changing conditions on the pipeline and make appropriate adjustments within operating parameters.
  • Has demonstrated a veteran track record for exemplary operation of the assets for which they are responsible
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to think quickly and provide support for emergency operations, including staying current on emergency operating procedures and practices.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in liquids, gas or CO2 pipeline control may be considered in Lieu of an Associate’s Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years direct and active work experience in the oil and gas industry, including working knowledge of industry terms and principles.
  • Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.
  • Shows leadership qualities and consistently leads by example, openly holding peers, and themselves to a higher standard.
  • Basic understanding of PHMSA CRM guidelines.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Displays self-driven behaviors in the active pursuit of furthering their own education, either internally or externally.
  • Sitting; standing; walking or moving throughout facility; driving; talking; seeing (specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus); hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to utilize multiple resources to arrive at a solution.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
  • Strong customer focus that includes demonstrated and consistent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • 24x7x365 operation; 12-hour shift work; rotating shifts; work schedule change may occur with little advance notice.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
