Senior System Engineer

Description

• Stay ahead with AI-driven building automation and emerging industry standards.
• Creating and managing project documentation matters such as System design specifications, High-level/Low-level design documents, technical configurations, and installation guides etc.
• Drive innovative, optimized designs that meet compliance and cybersecurity standards.
• Managing and overseeing subcontractors on outsourced work for IT related topics.
• Troubleshooting IT-related issues, resolution of IT incidents and failures during project installation stage and coordinate with necessary stakeholders to resolve.
• Supporting in system acceptance testing, preparation of evidence and documentation of test cases, measures implemented including IT and hardening controls based on customer requirements.
• Act as the technical leader for key commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Lead next-gen system architecture design, documentation, programming, and advanced graphics.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless integration of Siemens Total Building Solutions.

• Assisting in IT assessments, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (VAPT).
• Analyzes design plans, design specifications and codes to ensure project requirements compliance and mitigate risks including cybersecurity and data privacy concerns.
• Performing System Setup, hardening, resolve technical & design issues involving Operating Systems (Windows/Linux), as well as network devices (switches/ router).
• Reviewing and designing/verifying IT systems for servers, network and firewall with encompassing hardening controls.
• Technical mentor and inspire internal and external stakeholders to achieve excellence.

Requirements

• Knowledge of local regulations and authority submission processes.
• DDC/PLC/Script programming certificates or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in system engineering and programming, with at least 3-5 years in BMS or building automation.
• Proficiency in relevant cybersecurity tools.
• Familiarity with IP networking, cybersecurity, and system integration.
• Experience with server redundancy solutions such as Stratus everRun, VMware and Hyper-V.
• OT experience and/or OT cybersecurity experience is an added advantage.
• 7+ years of experience in system engineering and programming, with at least 3-5 years in fire safety systems.
• Experience in high-rise, data centres, airport, higher education, healthcare, life science or industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Familiarity with networking, cybersecurity, and system integration.
• Strong knowledge of security platforms (e.g., Surveillance, Milestone, Axis).
• Security and Surveillance Video certification or equivalent training certification.
• Strong experience in BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC DA/UA, S7, S7Plus, IEC61850, KNX, M-Bus, REST API, and ProfiNet standard protocol integration.
• Registered Fire Safety Engineers (FSE) or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity scope and practices.
• Familiarity with smart building technologies and IoT integration.
• Skilled in maintaining audit-ready documentation that demonstrates compliance and system integrity.
• 7+ years of experience in system engineering and programming, with at least 3-5 years in security systems.
• Cybersecurity certification or equivalent certification such as CCNA CCNP/CCIE, MCSE, FCA.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity and IT implementation, with understanding of cybersecurity concept.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection standards (i.e. SS 645).
• Proficiency in fire system engineering and programming tools (e.g., Siemens)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and IT networking in building systems.
• Awareness of FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and other global guidelines governing electronic records and signatures.
• Proficiency in C/C++/C#, Java, CFC/LAD/FBD/SCL programming skills
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Familiarity with SCDF submission and approval processes.
• Ability to navigate the end-to-end validation process, from user requirements and risk assessment through qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and supporting documentation such as validation plans, traceability matrices, and change control.
• Expertise in BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens Desigo CC, WinCC, Apogee).
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in high-rise, data centres, airport, higher education, healthcare, life science or industrial projects
• Green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BCA Green Mark).
• Expertise in chillers, HVAC and lab pressurization control programming and applications.
• Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV) principles and lifecycle activities, ensuring systems meet intended use and regulatory expectations.
• Experience with addressable fire alarm systems, suppression systems, emergency lightings, and voice evacuation systems is an added advantage
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (GMP, GAMP) and their application in system and equipment validation.
• Experience in high-security environments, airports, data centres, higher education, healthcare, life science, government facilities).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, , IT, or related field.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Protection Engineering.
