Commercial HVAC Equipment Estimator

Description

Commercial HVAC Equipment Estimator will review mechanical plans and specifications, provide equipment selections, cost estimates and detailed proposals. Estimator will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to review mechanical plans, conduct product takeoffs, and prepare detailed proposals that meet project requirements and client expectations.

• Select and configure commercial HVAC components to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness
• Prepare detailed proposals and supporting documentation
• Analyze commercial mechanical plans and specifications
• Perform thorough applied equipment takeoffs
• Effectively communicate with internal teams, clients and vendors to clarify proposal scope and resolve discrepancies
• Participate in bid review meetings to provide technical insights and risk assessments
• Utilize estimating software to develop detailed and accurate project proposals
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure equipment selections aligned with client specifications
• Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them

• Ability to identify discrepancies and mitigate potential risks
• Understanding of commercial HVAC systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Construction Management, or a related technical field (preferred). Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency with estimating software, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex mechanical systems and specifications
• 3–5 years of proven experience as a Commercial HVAC Estimator.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Applied equipment estimating experience, including chillers and air handling units preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, proactive problem solver with a team-oriented mindset
