Director of Construction for commercial developer

The Director of Construction will oversee all facets of the commercial construction operations for a large residential and commercial property developer in Arizona, and Texas and any new markets the company enters. This person will provide leadership, quality and process improvements. This person will build and grow existing network of external general contractors and specialty contractors to bid and use on commercial projects as needed. Assist in the design of projects during architectural phases. Oversee and provide initial budgets, staffing, project schedules, quality assurance, and safety compliance on job-sites. This person will manage a small team and ensures commercial jobs and teams are building to local codes and plans. Establishes the priorities and also determines resource allocation for the effective and efficient delivery of multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinate and attend meetings at projects under construction. Provide written monthly executive summary to the executive team. Performs other job duties as assigned. The ideal candidate with have a combination of preconstruction, design and field construction experience. At least 5 years in a supervisory role. The person could come from a owner developer, design build firm or possible a GC if you have experience working with preconstruction and design teams.
