Field Service Engineer - Technician

Overview

Install, modify and test high‑voltage GIS equipment on‑site, lead crews, ensure safety.

Tasks

-Direct field teams and subcontractors to meet project goals. -Lead technical field assignments and make critical decisions. -Travel frequently to project sites, sometimes for extended periods. -Perform and document field testing and inspections. -Promote safe practices and meet all health, safety, and environmental requirements. -Install, modify, and test high-voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) equipment at customer sites. -Ensure construction meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards. -Recommend improvements for performance and customer satisfaction. -Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What You Bring

-Technical diploma/degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred. Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical fields will be considered. -Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software. -Able to travel up to 80%, including to Canada and Mexico. -2-5 years of proven experience in technical field service work. -Fluent in English. -Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings. -Experience leading crews on electrical projects. -Valid US driver’s license. -Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. -Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
