Multi‑discipline engineering, architecture, design & consulting for public and private sector projects.
Drafts and coordinates construction specs, aligning design intent, material choices, codes, and sustainability.
Handles Quality Control of project documents (internal team review).
Supports local and regional offices in material research, selection and specification as well as material conflict issues throughout project phases.
Owns responsibility for code and constructability issues on project as it relates to project specifications.
Develops specifications as appropriate for each project phase.
Maintain and build relationships with vendors, suppliers, and product representatives.
Produce accurate and timely work in accordance with the project schedule and workplans. Work should demonstrate understanding of contractual obligations, design intent, and the project budget.

Owns responsibility for assembling and coordinating specification deliverables with limited oversight.

CSI’s Certification such as CDT (Construction Documents Technologist) or CCS (Certified Construction Specifier) or equivalent.
Believes in the importance of writing well-coordinated project specifications as a part of the quality assurance process.
Demonstrated experience in coordination of construction materials with vendors and material suppliers.
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
LEED Green Associate, LEED AP or equivalent.
Working knowledge of complete Construction Documents and integration of specifications.
Demonstrated expertise in collaboration software such as Bluebeam and Teams.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building codes, building systems, and construction material standards.
Proficient with MS Word and specification writing software such as SpecLink is highly desired.
Working knowledge of the architectural design and delivery process and construction sequencing and execution.
Demonstrated experience in preparation of architectural project specifications for multiple small- to large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years prior specifications writing experience within a related field.
Experience with the building types of the assigned market (Multi-Family Housing, mixed-use, entertainment, retail, commercial, industrial, light medical with a robust variety of building systems).
