Fire Technician

Description

• Work under other IPS technicians as well as independently when required.
• Follow company mandated safety policies
• Start his/her day trying to determine how he/she can exceed customer satisfaction at each and every opportunity.
• Must provide accurate and timely paperwork processing.

Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be self-motivated; able to perform work with little supervision.
• Possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and work amiably, professionally, and courteously with a variety of personalities.
• Must pursue, obtain, and maintain appropriate state licenses.
• Must have and maintain first aid certification.
• Must have 10-hour OSHA certification.
• Must have some computer skills – after learning, must be able to navigate company software, enter data, and send communication.
• Good eye/hand coordination and mechanical skills.
• Must demonstrate excellent people skills.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb ladders both caged and un-caged as well as stairs and other equipment.
• Must have Ohio Fire Alarm License
• Must have and maintain CPR certification.
• Must have training certifications for and be competent to operate aerial work platforms and articulating boom man-lifts.
• Will be learning to read and follow blue prints, schematics, drawings, and manufacturer’s installation and operation manuals and/or other related documentation in order to properly test a system or component.
• Required to stand and walk.
• Must actively pursue all training options presented.
• Must be licensed to and able to drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to direct and supervise others.
• Pass 10-panel drug screen test and undergo random drug testing
• Must demonstrate good written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must have a demeanor to tolerate a variety of customer personalities.
• Possess good math, language, and reading skills. Must fluently speak, read, and legibly write in English.
• Must be able to complete timely reports and necessary customer documentation
• Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Maximum unassisted lift = 75 lbs. Average unassisted lift would be less than 35 lbs.
• Must have Tennessee Fire Alarm license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Understand his/her job description but also understand that the phrase “It’s not my job” does not belong at IPS.
• Undergo background check.
• Background check required. Must have and maintain a clean driving record (no DUIs or other serious violations within the past three years).
• Must demonstrate excellent organizations skills
• NICET I or higher preferred
