The Operator – Heavy Equipment is tasked with the safe operation of heavy machinery at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations, performing duties such as transferring, spreading, covering, loading, and compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner.
Key responsibilities include conducting pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of equipment, operating various machines such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and front‑end loaders according to safety standards, continuously monitoring waste for unacceptable material and equipment condition, performing minor servicing and documenting reports, and maintaining a clean and organized shop at shift end.
The role requires strong customer service skills, effective time management, reliable follow‑through, adherence to company policies and safety standards, and a proud, goal‑driven work ethic.
Applicants must have at least two years of heavy‑equipment operating experience and one year on OSHA‑regulated sites; the position offers a pay range of $22.95 to $31.57 per hour, adjusted by locality.
