Use required safety equipment such as flags, signs, lights, and radios.
Escort oversized loads according to state-required routing and permitting guidelines.
Assist the heavy haul driver with navigation, lane changes, turns, and safe passage.
Monitor traffic, road hazards, clearances, bridges, and overhead obstructions.
Provide direction to motorists when necessary to maintain safe operation around the load.
Represent JDC professionally while interacting with the public and external agencies.
Maintain constant communication with the truck driver, dispatch, and other escorts.
Perform routine vehicle inspections on the escort vehicle before and after trips.
Review permits and ensure the load complies with all regulations.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Communicate clearly using CB radio or other company-approved communication devices.
Visual and hearing ability sufficient to safely monitor traffic and communicate.
Must be able to lift up to 25 or more lbs.
Able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods.
Frequent travel to job sites and public roadways.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations for wide/oversized load movement.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to work variable hours, including early mornings or evenings depending on haul schedules.
