The Construction Quality Inspector will work closely with clients, QA representatives, project coordinators, work package managers, and superintendents to ensure all QA/QC items meet contractual requirements.
The role involves overseeing contractor performance, coordinating testing, reviewing subcontractor work against specifications, managing documentation, supporting EHS standards, and assisting the Quality and Work Package Managers with the project quality plan.
- Conduct daily quality inspections of contractor work, including earthworks, fill verification, excavation, backfilling, and decommissioning.
- Verify compliance with specifications, contract requirements, and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) by witnessing and approving work.
- Coordinate testing with contractors and third‑party independent testing agents.
- Review subcontractor deliverables against technical specifications and manage acceptance.
- Monitor and report on contractor progress, daily reports, and weekly plans.
- Review and validate third‑party test results and generate Non‑Conformance Reports as needed.
- Facilitate client inspections, documentation review, and final acceptance activities.
- Manage subcontractor daily tasks such as safety permitting, labor and equipment approvals, and RFI submissions.
- Ensure EHS standards are upheld through safety inspections and support.
- Maintain quality documentation, logs, turnover records, and support implementation of corrective actions (CAR, NCR) with the Quality Manager.
- Support development and execution of the Project Quality Plan and control document flow for quality and project records.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or a related field, or have equivalent experience, with at least three years in civil construction or quality control. Familiarity with civil drawings, CSA and ASME codes, and strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering (or equivalent experience) with minimum 3 years civil construction/quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and familiarity with CSA A23.1/A23.2, ASME, and building codes.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
