The Business GIS Data Lead role will support business‑side GIS consolidation and technology projects, partnering with senior leaders to drive integrated process, data, and technology improvements across the enterprise.
In this position you will act as the business unit owner for asset data integration, championing data‑driven decision‑making, analytics, reporting, and technology enhancements that improve asset data quality and accessibility.
You will develop and maintain a holistic strategy for processes, systems, databases, analysis, visualization, and automation of both spatial and non‑spatial asset data, while advocating for demand collection, planning, and prioritization in collaboration with IT and enterprise support teams.
As the data owner for the Gas and Distribution business area, you will represent enterprise‑level requirements for data integrity, accessibility, and maintenance, sponsoring project implementations that align with strategic objectives and ensure integration with related initiatives.
You will recruit, lead, develop, and engage a high‑performing GIS professional team, participate in workforce and talent planning, and demonstrate collaborative leadership within a matrixed organization.
Responsibility includes overseeing process effectiveness, efficiency, and adherence, sponsoring action plans for operational excellence, and managing budgeting, resources, and benefits realization for improvement programs.
The role also governs the integrity of critical business unit processes, data, and systems, maintaining documentation, performance measures, reports, and training materials, and approving changes in line with enterprise standards.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience), at least ten years of utility industry experience with emphasis on GIS and asset data management, five years of leadership experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to influence within a matrix organization.
