Provide regular updates on project progress and input project information into OPPD work management systems.
Provide discipline specific expertise related to energy production and delivery.
Provide construction management services to assure quality installation of new systems and/or equipment for OPPD electrical generating facilities.
Close out and archive information from completed projects in accordance with OPPD procedures and document retention policies.
Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to initiate and complete purchase of materials necessary for installation of project related systems and/or equipment using OPPD work management systems.
Perform design reviews for design documents provided by others in the department or outside organizations to ensure OPPD and governmental policies and regulations are satisfied.
Manage and provide oversight of contractors and construction activities for compliance with contract documents and OPPD policies and procedures for assigned projects.
Develop, evaluate and compare potential solutions for design related problems.
Perform technical reviews and evaluations of design documents prepared by others in the department or from outside organizations to insure technical accuracy.
Apply broad knowledge to research, define, and solve design related problems.
Provide technical evaluations, engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, bid evaluations, contracts, installation packages, operating procedures, system descriptions and test procedures for multiple projects of various size including substantial portions of major projects.
Manage construction schedules, coordinate work with other internal and/or external groups, and report progress for assigned projects.
Provide engineering design services for OPPD electrical generating facilities to assure safe, economical and reliable operation.
Provide project management services to assure economic, quality and timely completion of multiple assigned projects.
Produce finished reports and documents which explain recommendations in a clear, concise and articulate manner with little or no editing.
Provide budget information, economic evaluations, business case documentation, and schedule development for assigned projects.
Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to interpret and implement construction contracts.

Understand and model OPPD policies and Leadership Framework principles and practices.
Successfully completed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE Certification)
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Ability to work as part of a team, exercise flexibility and take responsibility for assigned work
Demonstrate knowledge of OPPD policies and practices as well as industry wide policies and practices. Demonstrate understanding of related disciplines and other Energy Delivery/Production departments and their interaction with assigned work.
Acquire general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in order to function on multi-discipline teams.
A minimum of four (4) years engineering work experience ¿ special projects, committee assignments or technical skills may be credited for experience duration
Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional and respectful manner
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex concepts in both technical and ¿layman¿ terms
Effective analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
Possess discipline specific knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
Engineering-related experience at a power generating facility or in a related field
Four (4) year Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Project management experience
Advanced Degree (MBA or MS qualifies for up to two (2) years experience)
