  • Conduct internal audits throughout facility.
  • Ensure completion of life safety equipment inspections including but not limited to, fire suppression equipment, emergency lighting, emergency shower and eyewash units, first-aid supplies.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Facilitate management and continual improvement of Vestas' Health, Safety and Environmental program for manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Brighton, CO.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist with Operations' job hazard analysis of job activities to objectively identify hazards and mitigation steps.
  • Coordinate and perform industrial hygiene and ergonomic surveys.

  • See and hear alarms and timers and follow verbal instructions
  • Gather evidence and conduct root cause analysis related to workplace incidents.
  • Assist with Worker's Compensation and claims management.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory through Chemical Management System.
  • Perform duties related to emergency response for the facility as outlined by the Emergency Response Plan.
  • Maintain regular & reliable attendance
  • Facilitate and perform all duties pertaining to State and Federal environmental compliance, including waste, water, chemical, energy, and air regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver HSE training curriculum.
  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of safety and health standards, criteria, and guidelines, such as those issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), ISO 14001/45001/9001, Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE) and Vestas Operations' guidelines.

  • Advanced computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to interface with various database programs.
  • Self motivated and require lower level of supervision.
  • Familiar with ISO 14001, 45001 program management, Industrial Hygiene principles and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to travel to various facilities as position requires (15-20%)
  • High level of responsiveness to evolving circumstances.
  • Ability to work in teams with ability to schedule and self-manage tasking timetables.
  • Preferred minimum 3 years' experience in a position with health and safety or environmental responsibilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Proficient technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in Project Management preferred.
  • Associate's degree required in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline. Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or related discipline preferred.
