Director of Aviation

Description

The Director of Aviation can work from any IMEG office or remotely and will lead the growth of the aviation market by creating strategy, building client relationships, developing new business, and fostering collaboration and education across the firm. The role provides vision, leadership, and engagement for both senior leaders and staff within the aviation practice.

• Develop corporate strategy for aviation market growth and sustainment
• Collaborate with executive leadership to expand aviation market and engage firm on initiatives
• Create annual aviation business plan and set new‑fee goals
• Lead regular aviation market meetings to share information and promote collaboration
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, design and construction firms, and peer market directors
• Data‑mine leads and develop lead generation strategies with business developers and client executives
• Facilitate individual aviation business development meetings with external parties
• Assist with teaming strategies, staff selection, and direct outreach for aviation projects
• Mentor client and project executives on aviation proposal development and processes
• Review marketing qualifications before submission for aviation opportunities
• Act as a visible aviation expert through social media, blogs, white papers, conferences, and speaking engagements
• Oversee corporate aviation conference participation, exhibiting, and speaking engagements
• Refine marketing materials, website content, and Salesforce data for the aviation market
• Maintain professional registration and associate principal stock ownership level

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong leadership and sales/revenue generation abilities
• Provide prior supervisory experience and familiarity with aviation budgeting and project implementation
• Communicate effectively and organize work across all client and staff levels
• Self‑motivated, flexible, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Travel up to 30% with occasional overnight stays
• Hold a BS in Engineering (or equivalent); MS preferred
• Minimum 15 years in engineering consulting or aviation market

Benefits

The position offers a California salary range of $145,000‑$185,000, with compensation adjusted for experience and performance, plus potential annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
