The Safety Specialist for the Cooling, Power & Connectivity division safeguards the lives, health and careers of field technicians working on HVAC, generators, UPS systems, telecom towers and related engineering operations. By shaping safety strategy and advising operations leadership, the role drives measurable improvements in electrical safety, vehicle safety and regulatory compliance, while reducing incidents and strengthening Pearce’s reputation with customers, regulators and insurers.
Key responsibilities include leading investigations of injuries, vehicle incidents, near‑misses and electrical events, performing root‑cause analysis and recommending corrective actions. The specialist serves as the NFPA 70E and LOTO subject‑matter expert, oversees driver‑safety and fleet‑risk programs, and designs and delivers training on electrical safety, confined spaces and defensive driving. Data‑driven continuous improvement is achieved by analysing leading and lagging safety metrics, conducting field audits and toolbox talks, and partnering with HVAC, generator, UPS, tower and engineering leaders.
The role requires at least three years of field‑safety or EHS experience supporting HVAC, generators, telecom, UPS or field engineering, with strong knowledge of electrical safety (NFPA 70E), lockout/tagout, confined‑space entry and defensive driving. Proven ability to conduct incident investigations, audits, risk assessments and to use safety data and telematics to drive improvement is essential, as is the capacity to work independently in the field and make risk‑based decisions.
Preferred qualifications include OSHA 30‑Hour, First Aid/CPR and certifications such as CHST, CSHO or ASP, with Cal/OSHA experience strongly favored.
Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 USD, with eligibility for performance and referral bonuses, vehicle and tool stipends, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, HSA options, paid time off, holidays, 401(k) match, life insurance, tuition reimbursement and professional‑development training.
