Serve as the liaison between the engineer and the contractor.
Attend daily/weekly/monthly project field meetings.
Monitor adherence to contract and design documents.
Operate computerized and digital testing and monitoring equipment.
Review and respond to daily construction issues, working with the design team, Client, and contractor(s) as appropriate to determine a resolution.
Oversee and/or perform required testing (will vary by project type) and maintain required documentation in accordance with the project documents.
Serve as Stantec’s on-site site safety representative, with ability to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others by participating in daily safety briefings, observations, and walkdowns prior to executing the work or when conditions change.
Interact routinely, effectively, and professionally with Client and contractor representatives and the Stantec office team.
Communicate and report discrepancies and deviations from requirements to the design team and Client.
Conduct construction quality oversight of installed materials and equipment.
Maintain detailed documentation (daily reports, test results, RFIs, submittals, non-conformance reports, etc.) for inclusion in progress reports and record drawings.
Track construction progress, observed issues and resolutions, field discussions, etc.

Working knowledge of codes and design requirements is a plus.
Proficient with desktop office software applications (word processor, spreadsheets, email, PDF viewers, etc.).
Experience with field construction activities and construction quality management is required; experience with construction materials laboratory testing is a plus.
A pre-employment drug screen may also be required.
Client specific background checks and drug screening may also be required.
Ability to use detailed plans for construction, technical specifications, quality management plans, and other project documents.
Ability to work with a team on large complex projects.
Ability to work weekends as required.
This position will require primarily fieldwork and requires the ability to travel extensively in the region with overnight stays.
Interested candidates should have (or have the ability to obtain) certifications related to the position (ACI Level 1 Field Concrete Technician, nuclear density gauge, NICET, Geosynthetics Certification Institute’s Inspector Certification Program, etc.).
High school diploma or equivalent is required, secondary education in related field is a plus.

Previous construction experience with relevant experience in the following general areas is preferred, but is not a prerequisite: - Working on or around power or industrial facilities, flood control structures and impoundments, solar energy systems, etc.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
Construction observation and inspection experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum 5 years related experience preferred.
Familiarity with materials testing requirements and construction tolerances.
