Helper/Grinder (3rd Shift)

Description

• Perform final upgrade grinding on runner to crown/ band weld radii
• Novice-Gather materials
• Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments.
• Direct and train other Helpers in methods and techniques to grind complex geometrics.
• Operate main crane, jib crane and forklifts to move and position components for optimum grinding performance
• Perform final upgrade grinding wicket gate final blending
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
• Observes safety and security procedures
• Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
• Keep Supervisor informed of problems regarding assigned task, schedule, safety, etc. as conditions arise
• Uses equipment and materials properly

• Novice-Able to perform under direction limited upgrade grinding of buckets.
• Novice-Assist Fabricators and Welders
• Adapts to changes in the work environment such as delays or unexpected events
• Technical skills
• Problem solving skills
• Novice-Able to perform grinding of weld preps.
• Novice-Able to perform flat grinding of buckets.
• Novice-Able to operate jib cranes and forklifts to move and position components for optimum grinding performance.
• Ability to carry out written or oral instructions
• Language skills
• Mathematical skills
• Novice-Basic blueprint reading.
• Novice-Able to perform under direction limited upgrade grinding of wicket gates.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Novice-Painting (Brush or roller) / Maintenance painting
