The primary function of this position is to learn the Company’s field coordination process and assist the Field Superintendent/Shop Foreman daily. Ensure field services are effective, and customer requirements are met. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fire protection industry. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead or direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Order/schedule equipment as needed.
- Assist the sprinkler fitters with material pick-ups.
- Bring prints, small materials, and/or information to the drivers’ area located in the back of the shop.
- Learn about the material moving equipment and the various lifts used by the Company and how to properly request it.
- Follow-up after testing to get the completed paperwork back to the office.
- Complying with all operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs is required.
- Update daily, weekly and monthly reportings for Corporate submission for both field and fab operations.
- Learn and conform to the shop safety rules.
- Type meeting notes and correspondence as needed.
- Enter and update FMS (fuel management) and reporting as needed.
- Learn to send out field employee new hire paperwork, work with HR with new hires, collect fitter work hours, expense reports, and create and update various spreadsheets for when National Field Coordinator is unavailable.
- Building positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees and management is required.
- Interact with the shop personnel for delivery and material needs.
- Manage Lift Rental/Deliveries/Pick-ups.
- Interface with dispatch on a daily basis.
- Track equipment from beginning to end.
- Fabrication inventory control/management/procurement/reporting.

The strength rating for this position is classified as sedentary work which entails exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. This position occasionally requires protective eye equipment. Operation of a computer, telephone, headphone, mailroom cart, and copiers/fax machine is required. Understanding simple memos, and business letters is required. Writing simple memos, reports and summaries is required.
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, government agencies, customers, vendors and suppliers.

- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (i.e. Word, and particularly Excel) is required.
