This position may be filled at the Associate Project Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Project Manager level, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The role focuses on overseeing large‑scale utility construction projects from initiation through completion.
Key duties include applying integration, risk, procurement, cost, and schedule management processes across all project phases, as well as managing stakeholder engagement and human‑resource coordination. The manager also ensures quality management, configuration control, and compliance with NIPSCO governance and environmental requirements.
The Project Manager is accountable for meeting safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives while adhering to NIPSCO standards and industry best practices. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and proficiency with project‑management tools are essential to deliver complex capital projects in challenging environments.
Candidates must hold a technical bachelor’s degree and possess at least six years of technical experience, seven to nine years of project or architectural‑engineering experience, and one to three years of direct project‑manager experience. A Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is expected within one year of hire.
The position requires a valid driver’s license and may involve up to 50% travel, as well as work in high‑noise, dusty, extreme‑temperature, confined‑space, or chemically hazardous environments. Flexibility to work outside normal hours is necessary to support continuous utility service and emergency operations.
Additional qualifications include experience with large industrial capital projects and advanced proficiency in project‑management information systems such as scheduling, risk, cost, and performance‑metric tools. Strong interpersonal and situational‑leadership skills are required to motivate teams and resolve conflicts.

The salary range for this role is $79,800 to $165,300, reflecting factors such as skills, knowledge, experience, and internal pay equity.
