The Portfolio Manager serves as a key member of the banking team, responsible for maintaining underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and overall credit health. The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards while actively seeking opportunities to deepen customer relationships through tailored financial products and services. Success in this position requires close collaboration with account officers and internal departments to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.
- Manage credit and monitor portfolio risks
- Grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue by presenting financial solutions
- Conduct preliminary evaluation and underwriting of loan proposals
- Meet or exceed assigned volume/production goals
- Recommend changes to lending policies and procedures
- Handle full loan request cycle: financial analysis, term sheet preparation, proposal writing
- Obtain third‑party appraisals and environmental reports ensuring compliance
- Identify loan concerns and discuss with account officers
- Liaise with Credit Department, prepare risk rating change proposals, facilitate approvals
- Coordinate information between client and internal departments during loan process
- Communicate and finalize loan closings
- Oversee renewals, document tickler, and covenant tracking
- Monitor loan documentation exception reports and resolve promptly
- Monitor financial statement exception reports and resolve promptly
- Work with Account Officers to manage maturing/re‑pricing loans and identify new business
- Troubleshoot and manage delinquent accounts
- Generate and provide loan portfolio reports as needed
- Participate in team sales calls and attend external business‑development events
