Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning and design of sewer collection systems and interceptors and water distribution and transmission mains.
Participate and/or lead value engineering approaches and project constructability reviews.
Serve as the Project's point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Supervise the work of engineers and other project staff, including setting priorities for their scope of work, task budget and schedule deliverables for completing the work in collaboration with the Project Manager(s).
Serve as EngineerofRecord, leading the preparation and delivery of project technical specifications and civil engineering construction documents. Sign, review and evaluate work for technical accuracy and completeness; advise on technical problem and solutions.
Management of existing client relationships and development of new client relationships. Lead, or contribute to, project scoping, value analysis, and cost estimating meetings.
Evaluate, select, and specify civil and mechanical engineered systems or products for projects. This includes but is not limited to pipe material selection, pump selection, valve selection, as well as application of said systems.
Participate in multidisciplinary teams on water conveyance projects across the Southwest.
Engage in leadership of professional organizations that align with professional expertise; write technical papers and deliver technical presentations at conferences and symposia events.
Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.

Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.
Sound understanding of conveyance design principles, including planning, design, and construction, such as: Sewer collection design including experience with diurnal patterns, open channel hydraulics, bypass sewer design, manhole design and rehabilitation, flow diversion, and flow metering
Pipeline rehabilitation methodologies including CIPP, pipe bursting, and pipelining
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
Familiarity and design experience with trenchless construction methodologies such as HDD, microtunneling, auger boring.
Experienced with the use of hydrologic and hydraulic network modeling and design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, in accordance with expertise.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater conveyance design projects.
Water distribution and transmission main design with rigid and nonrigid pipe materials including welded steel pipe, ductile iron pipe, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pressure pipe and cylinder pipe.
Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required.
Experience with various project delivery methods and construction methodologies, especially trenchless applications, is preferred.
