The Role

Overview

Support, troubleshoot, and improve electronic security and networking systems for critical facilities.

Tasks

-Conduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios -Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes -Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions -Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors and system administrators -Conduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems). -Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. -Using advanced knowledge of networking principals and system administration skills to troubleshoot systems and operating systems -Provide support to the system administration team -Identify and understand the speech of another person. -Interface with engineering team to ensure design efficiency -Provide on site system support post deployment -Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision -Train system users and other system support personnel -Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis -Perform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates -Conduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systems -Read and interpret engineering drawings -Interface with internal and external customers -Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. -Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issues -Answer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job site -Analyze system performance and recommend improvements -Ensure test lab equipment is maintained

What You Bring

-System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions -Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. -Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. -High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or -Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience or -Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends -Master's Degree with 3+ years experience -Open and transparent communication with senior leadership as well as local office management. -Read blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW). -Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer -Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. -Understand SOP and SOW documentation -Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred -Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. -Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. -Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS -Associates with 8+ years of experience or
