Manage and optimize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and data portfolios for the Air Force Civil Engineering GeoBase program, providing training, process improvements, and integration across the DAF geospatial engineering enterprise.
Analyze current CAD, engineering design, and GIS integration processes and recommend improvements or other best practice solutions
Train program and organization staff and end users:
Gather requirements from mission partners to enable maximum integration across the DAF enterprise
Train staff on CAD-GIS data integration processes and best practices
Ensure compliance with existing DoD and DAF data standards
Utilize the GeoBase Agile framework to enable task visibility and project transparency to AFCEC client:
Create and update training documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guidance
Implement, refine, and develop CAD standards to satisfy mission requirements
Evaluate existing training and user performance and provide improvement feedback, updating training and processes as needed
Train staff in CAD software use, capabilities, and best practices
Manage the AFCEC Computer-Aided Design software portfolio:
Manage CAD data portfolios and standards compliance across the program and organization:
Ensure engineering design and GIS integration requirements are met or exceeded with current software
Document DAF standards and workflow processes; create and update GeoBase Knowledge Base for end user self help
Optimize processes for the integration, storage and retrieval of CAD data
Use Agile platform (Jira, Confluence) to record all processes and tasks, and manage all projects
Provide expert advice to client for suggested inputs to update Air Force Instruction (DAFI), Policy (AFPD), Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP), or other official guidance or standards
Maintain knowledge of the latest CAD technology industry trends, advising client of potential impacts to civil engineering mission

Four (4) years of experience performing computer-aided drafting and design processes in a production environment
Extensive knowledge of Autodesk software and capabilities:
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience integrating CAD data with geospatial data and systems
Basic knowledge of/experience with Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in a role requiring:
Military drafting experience, especially as a USAF 3E5, Army 12Y, 81A, 81B, or 81C, USMC 1300 or 1361, Navy Seabee Engineering Aide or CEC, or other related background
Experience with the DAF GeoBase program
Two (2) years of experience working with AutoCAD toolsets:
Experience with DoD geospatial data or systems
Excellent problem-solving and consulting skills with emphasis on client and team member engagement
Four (4) years of experience using Autodesk AutoCAD software
Proficiency with other CAD software such as MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for our dynamic working environment
Proficiency with the A/E/C data standard, Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard, or experience with other defined CAD or spatial data models
Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation.
Two (2) years of experience implementing or managing drawing vault solutions
Proficiency with Esri or other GIS software
