Experience of Infrastructure and Application architectures is key from identifying customer requirements, evaluation of required IT solutions and selecting the correct application and technology solution design.
Record of academic achievement, including some form of recognised qualification from further education, such as a degree or diploma, is desirable.
As IT architectures and technologies develop and evolve in ever reducing periods of time, the role holder will be required to update their knowledge and must therefore demonstrate a strong, in-built desire to acquire and retain knowledge about information technology.

Given the breadth of technologies and applications used across ScottishPower, it is expected that the role holder will have worked in a variety of IT disciplines and will have gained knowledge across most aspects of infrastructure, application and operational disciplines with strong supporting knowledge of (vertical and horizontal) industry applications.
Working within an UK wide and international team, oral and/or written skills in Spanish would be desirable but as a minimum there must be a willingness to learn Spanish.
