HVAC General Foreman

Description

• Supervise up to 10 HVAC technicians.
• Perform service, inspection, and testing of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Repair and replace defective components and wiring.
• Conduct intermediate to advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing.
• Execute warranty service inspections and functional testing.
• Educate customers on equipment use, maintenance schedules, and manuals.
• Lead rebuild and retrofit projects, guiding apprentice technicians.
• Program new control systems using touchscreens and computers.
• Document jobsite actions and generate project reports.
• Communicate status updates to customers and building owners.
• Identify and quote minor repair opportunities to customers.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other required documentation.
• Download programs into commercial HVAC equipment and analyze chiller trend data.
• Participate in training and maintain all required certifications.
• Perform jobsite hazard assessments and follow safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years HVAC experience with increasing responsibility, or 7+ years, or equivalent education/experience.
• Accepted as Foreman by the union; high school diploma or GED; technical HVAC certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to provide rotational emergency call support.
• Preferred: union membership, commercial HVAC experience, mentorship background, OSHA 10 certification within 90 days, current first aid/CPR card.
• Factory certified training, refrigeration certification, and work on cutting‑edge intelligent equipment.
