The Building Manager, will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management and of first class service delivery of cleaning, security, reception, postal services, service desk, IT services, telephone and administration. This individual will also support the Facilities Manager and Surveyors whenever necessary.
- Maintain good relations with all occupiers, and manage the building with regard to occupiers’ needs and the philosophy of comprehensive occupier care encouraged by Helix Property.
- Liaise with the Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with all H&S regulations and legal requirements at the building.
- Maintain and manage the client’s property in a cost-efficient manner.
- Ensure that staffing levels are adequate and provision is made for emergency and out of hours cover.
- Assist the Facilities Manager where required to set, assess and monitor the service budget.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and Facilities and Property Management at all times.
- Seek greater efficiencies and better work practices in order to improve the quality of service delivery to occupiers. For the avoidance of doubt, no contract documentation is to be signed by the Facilities or Building Manager.
- Ensure that all call outs are dealt with efficiency and promptly, as well as keep all occupiers / contractors / consultants updated on progress.
- Protect the interests of the client / Helix as their representative, and conduct any facilities/building related business in a professional and business-like manner at all times.

- Total familiarisation with all layouts and systems for the building.
- Good numerical skills including computer literacy (Excel, Word, MS Outlook)
- Good knowledge of buildings, maintenance and service
- Proven track record in managing staff/contractors
- High level of organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
- Experience of liaising with clients, tenants, consultants and local authorities
- Similar experience within a competitor company
- Able to use initiative and take responsibility
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Managing multi-site property experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
