Description
The Manager of Affordable Housing will oversee the recertification process, ensure compliance with state and local housing programs, and coordinate a team of Affordable Housing Associates. This role directly supports the delivery of safe, high‑quality, and financially accessible homes for residents, contributing to sustainable community development.
- Oversee timely recertification of affordable‑housing units and ensure compliance with tax‑credit, HPD, HFA, Section 8, HCR, and SOTA regulations.
- Supervise and mentor Affordable Housing Associates.
- Maintain and manage the applicant waiting list.
- Track recertification deadlines and generate Yardi annual recertification reports.
- Coordinate utility allowances, LIHTC, and HUD adjustments using accurate portfolio data.
- Lead the team to meet all compliance requirements, including rent registrations and lease renewals.
- Conduct weekly team meetings and deliver training on department needs.
- Ensure accuracy of lease information such as rates, agency details, and financial terms.
- Prepare subsidy paperwork and enter leases, renewals, and credits (e.g., SCRIE, DRIE, Section 8) into Yardi.
- Assist with applicant interviews, income verification, and documentation of external income sources.
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for government agencies.
- Lead preparation for state agency or syndicator audits and maintain audit‑ready files.
- Perform regular compliance audits and act as liaison between ownership, agencies, and managers.
- Address tenant inquiries compassionately while adhering to fair‑housing laws.
- Maintain on‑site presence to facilitate communication with tenants, staff, and visitors.
