As an Acoustic Technician in the Acoustics team, you will support the delivery of technically demanding projects such as HS2, the Great Grid Upgrade, and Sizewell C. Responsibilities include field measurements, 3‑dimensional noise modelling, and providing technical advice on noise and vibration impacts for both building and external environments. The apprenticeship follows the Environmental Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship standard with day‑release study at Coventry University.
Candidates must have at least five GCSEs (grades 4‑9) including Maths and English, three A‑levels or equivalent, be aged 18 or over, and have the right to work in the UK after three years of residency. Desired attributes include resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to influence stakeholders. The role requires willingness to travel and work remotely when needed, and offers a diverse, inclusive workplace that values equality and personal development.
The Apprenticeship programme offers a fast‑track entry into professional work while studying for a qualification. Apprentices gain on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and funding for relevant accreditations, and they join a supportive Early Careers community. You will work alongside skilled professionals and be guided by a line manager to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for the apprenticeship and potential chartership.
