The company began as a small analytical services firm.
Its founders began with analytical testing and expanded through the 1980s and 1990s into radiochemistry, field services, industrial hygiene, and surveying.
Comprising multiple subsidiaries—including GEL Laboratories, GEL Engineering, GEL Solutions and Cape Fear Analytical—it offers lab chemistry, environmental consulting, 3D laser scanning and SUE.
Typical projects range from PFAS sampling and site remediation to utility mapping, civil/structural engineering and specialty contaminant analysis.
The group serves clients across commercial, industrial, government and transportation sectors, delivering services both regionally in the Southeast US and globally.
A standout feature is Cape Fear Analytical’s niche expertise in dioxins, furans and PCB testing, positioning it as a world-leader in that specialty.
