Perform basic building maintenance (preventive, predictive) of a government commercial office building
Replace defective breaker controls, thermostat, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units, may install, repair and service air conditioners
Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to insure proper operation, test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap- and-water solution, wraps pipe in insulation batting and secures them in place with cement or wire bands
Connect motors, compressor, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source
Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
Work effectively with the customer, building tenants and other team members
Perform emergency repairs and available for after hour and weekend repairs
Installs air and water filters in completed installation
Responsible for maintaining, responding to service requests, as needed, under guidance of the PM, Deputy PM or Chief Engineer.
Injects small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure

Must be in good financial standing and not be behind in taxes
OSHA 30 desired
Understand written and oral instructions to perform the required work
High School or Equivalent (at a minimum)
Must be a US Citizen (or a permanent resident for at least 5 years)
An existing Building Background Investigation (i.e. HSPD-12) for the facility or other federal agency desirable.
