The Quality Engineer interprets test data using engineering knowledge to determine whether performance criteria are met, and provides quality engineering services throughout all phases of manufacturing, for both manufactured and purchased products, as well as engineering standards.
Key duties include performing testing on pumping station equipment and electrical panels, conducting final U.L. inspections on finished products before shipment, and compiling comprehensive records of inspections and testing with accompanying documentation and photographs. The engineer also investigates quality‑related problems, collaborates with engineering and other internal departments to interpret plans and specifications, coordinates product certifications, creates pump curves from test data, prepares inspection files, and maintains drawings and standards. Additional responsibilities involve reviewing engineering orders, recommending changes, training engineers on quality procedures, and assisting manufacturing and suppliers in improving performance reports.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, preferably mechanical or electrical, and experience or internship in manufacturing. Candidates must be able to read blueprints and wiring schematics, use standard measuring tools, apply basic metrology methods, and possess strong mathematical, visual‑spatial, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to work independently or in a team, and a valid driver’s license are required.
The role demands physical capabilities such as sitting, standing, walking, frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and lifting up to 25 pounds, as well as the ability to ascend two flights of stairs and travel occasionally using a company vehicle.
