The Staff/Project Accountant focuses on project accounting functions, including setting up billing terms and invoice formats, interpreting contracts, preparing invoices, completing the revenue generation cycle with general‑ledger postings, and monitoring accounts receivable and collections. General department duties include managing trade payables, processing credit cards, and serving as the point of contact for employee expense reports and reimbursements.
You will interact with project executives, senior management, clients, and subconsultants, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of corporate books and the overall financial success of the firm. The position also assists the controller and CFO with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of related experience and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an accounting concentration. Experience in the architecture, engineering, or consulting industry is preferred, and we are willing to train the right entry‑level person.
Technical proficiency with Deltek Accounting Software is a plus but not required. Professional traits include a strong work ethic, collaborative attitude, excellent verbal and written communication, ability to meet deadlines, multitask, give and receive feedback, and a willingness to learn and act independently.
A valid, unrestricted driver’s license must be maintained, and the role includes additional duties as outlined in the general guidelines. The work environment is supportive, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities, and the position is full‑time with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week, often requiring additional hours.
