Understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Witness/record the inspectors opening/closing of the crude vessels.This includes gauging/temping, water cuts, sampling, calculations…
Operate and trouble shoot the VCU’s.
Perform dock inspections and ensure the docks are kept clean and in good order.
Properly maintains and completes all necessary paperwork and logs.
Performs general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work area.
Oversee the loading of crude oil vessels from docking to sailing.
Performs dock watch when vessels and barges are involved in transfers.
Comply with SOP manual, spill response plan, and safety policies.
Prevent delays on loading vessels.
Maintain accurate time logs for loading vessels.
Safely operates cranes and loading arms.
Stay alert, monitor barge/vessels throughout entire move, and continuously adjust dock hoses to prevent damages.
Properly connects/disconnects loading arms and dock hoses on vessels and barges.
Assist other operators when needed.

Ability to use a variety of light to heavy tools necessary to conduct plant operations.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods of time.
Have working knowledge of the ILS sampler and ET’s crude samplers.
Understands and follows the contents of the “Letter of Compliance” issued to HFOTCO by the USCG.
Ability to operate crane and other equipment necessary for loading and unloading product.
Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs from floor to above shoulder and horizontally and carry objects up to 100 feet. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks; climb (e.g., ladders and stairs, etc.), stretch, turn, twist, reach; bend, crouch, squat, kneel and stoop for extensive periods of time.
Have good communication skills and a good working relationship with other HFOTCO employees, customers, inspectors, agents, barge/vessel personnel, and any other personnel conducting business with HFOTCO.
High School or equivalent with 3 years of dock operations experience.
